Skeena Zone Drama Festival is this Weekend - May 17th to May 20th

Be sure to attend the 2013 Skeena Zone Drama Festival this weekend. Come out and see some amazing theatrical productions from Kitimat, Prince Rupert, and Terrace, as they vie for a spot to represent the Skeena Zone in the provincial theatre festival Mainstage in Kamloops.

There will be a lot going on over the festival weekend. In addition to the shows, there will be a theatre acting workshop with the festival adjudicator Garry Davey, an experienced theatre professional from Vancouver, public adjudications, coffee critiques and, for the winning play, a workshop to prepare the production for the intense competition at the Mainstage Festival. You even get to choose your favourites for the People's Choice Awards, but you will have to see all the shows to qualify.

Tickets for the shows are $15 and are available at Misty River Books. All shows are at the REM Lee Theatre and all green room coffee critiques will be held at the McColl Playhouse. Be a part of our first zone festival in five years.

To all the competitors, Break a Leg!

Terrace Little Theatre to Host 2013 Skeena Zone Drama Festival

Terrace Little Theatre will be hosting the annual Skeena Zone Drama Festival for the first time in five years at the REM Lee Theatre and McColl Playhouse in Terrace. The festival brings together community theatre groups in northwest BC to vie for Best Play and travel on to Theatre BC's MAINSTAGE in Kamloops. It runs May 17 to 20, 2013. TLT is looking for volunteers to help with the event. This is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes in the waters of the theatre world. As a volunteer you will experience live theatre productions from Kitimat, Prince Rupert and Terrace, public adjudications by a well-known professional director, Garry Davey, sit in on coffee critiques for an in-depth look at how each plays was put together, mingle with the actors and crew after the shows, and attend the very lively awards ceremony.

Festival volunteers cover a variety of positions: serve on the organizing committee, take tickets, hang up posters, do hospitality during set-up, coffee critiques or Green Room socials, assist with transportation, help with production load-in and strike, do fund raising, seek sponsors and help at the registration table. TLT and Volunteer Terrace are partners in the Skeena Zone Drama Festival.

TLT is currently seeking volunteers for the Festival Committee. We also seek a Honourary Chairperson. If you interested in helping out, please contact Skeena Zone Chair Marianne Weston at 250.635.2942 between 8 am and 8 pm, leave a message on the TLT phone 250.638.1215 or email at If you are registered with Volunteer Terrace, please call Freda Schmidt at 250.638.1330
